Health Requirements
Every guest must be healthy and fully vaccinated — just bring the health booklet to check-in.
- Rabies — valid and up to date.
- Feline trivalent (FVRCP): panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus.
- Feline leukemia (FeLV) — recommended.
- Recent deworming and flea/tick treatment.
Please add photos of the health booklet with your reservation and bring the physical booklet to check-in.

- Check-in is 24/7; check-out before 14:00 (later counts as a full extra day).
- Health-first: if a cat won't eat, drink, or use the litter box for 3+ days, we'll call you right away.

What can I expect, and how will my cat experience their stay?
A calm, cats-only environment — no dogs, no noise. Your cat gets their own private, glass-front suite with cozy bedding and hideaways, solo playtime (we never mix cats from different families), and gentle daily care from people who genuinely understand cats. It's completely normal for a cat to be a little shy on day one and settle over the next day or two — we let every cat set their own pace, and you'll watch them relax in the daily photos and videos.
How do I prepare my cat for boarding?
A few small things help a lot: make sure vaccinations are up to date well before drop-off, pack their usual food (a sudden change can upset their stomach), and bring a familiar blanket or toy that smells like home. Note down their feeding routine and any medication. On the day, keep the goodbye short and upbeat — cats take their cue from you. A quick visit beforehand can also help.
Can I bring my cat's toys, blanket, or bed?
Yes, please do — familiar scents are one of the best ways to help a cat feel at home. Bring a favourite toy, blanket, or bed, and just label anything you'd like returned.
What vaccinations does my cat need?
Every guest must be up to date on rabies and the feline trivalent (FVRCP); feline leukemia (FeLV) is recommended, along with recent deworming and flea/tick treatment. Just bring the health booklet to check-in. For everyone's safety, we can't accept unvaccinated cats.
Do you take kittens or senior cats?
Yes — we welcome cats of every age, as long as they're healthy and have completed all the vaccinations required to board with us.
My cat needs medication — is that okay?
Yes. A feline-friendly vet is on call and we coordinate medication on schedule. Just tell us the details when you book.
Can I bring my cat's own food?
Absolutely — bringing their usual food helps avoid tummy upset. If you'd rather, we provide premium brands (Orijen, Acana, Royal Canin, and more). Wet food and treats are included when we provide the food, or a small daily add-on if you bring dry food.
Can I book for more than one cat?
Yes. Each cat can have its own private Standard room, or your cats can share a larger Moonlight room together (up to four cats from the same family).
How will I know how my cat is doing?
You'll get photo and video updates 3 times a day — morning, afternoon, and evening — plus nightly checks and camera surveillance. Want more? Hourly updates are available as an extra.
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is available 24/7. Check-out is before 14:00 — a later check-out counts as a full extra day.
How do I pay, and is my booking confirmed right away?
Sending the form is a request — we confirm availability by WhatsApp or email. Payment is arranged directly with us, never online through the website. In high season we may arrange an advance payment.
Can I visit before I book?
Of course — message us on WhatsApp and we'll arrange a time to show you around.

About Us
We started with one cat, a notebook, and a stubborn idea.
The Meowtel began when our founder kept hearing the same complaint from cat parents in Tirana: every boarding option in the city was built for dogs, and cats came second. The hospitality wasn't there.
So we built something different. A boutique hotel exclusively for cats — quiet, separated, soundproofed, and run by people who actually understand how cats behave when they're stressed. Every detail is intentional, from the wood grain on the suites to the soft paw-print blankets in every cubby.
The store grew naturally from the same instinct: stocking only the brands we'd feed our own cats, and only the accessories we'd actually use.
